At Eggbuckland College
Supporting long-term athletic development
New for 2022, we have launched FutureFiit – fun, innovative fitness classes for kids who LOVE sport!
These engaging 50-minute strength and conditioning sessions at Eggbuckland Community College aim to support young athletes as they enter the first window in their long-term athletic development.
Between the ages of 7 and 10 is the most important time to train children’s athleticism in terms of balance, speed, and functional movement patterns.
Does your child want to develop into a good athlete for football, rugby, tennis, netball, or any other sport?
Joining this programme will give them the best start possible by becoming part of a fun and professionally-run long-term athletic development programme.
Overseen by Charlie Legg, a UKSCA qualified strength and conditioning coach, your child will enjoy the latest and best training experience, individualised where necessary to optimise their performance outcomes.
Young people will learn great habits and develop sporting skills for life – not only will it improve their sporting output, but it will also improve their health and wellbeing in addition to being great fun.
Taking part in competitive fitness games and tasks and using the latest equipment for speed training and conditioning, your young person will develop:
1. Sprint speed
2. Agility patterns
3. Core strength
4. Muscular strength and endurance
This is the first class of its kind in the area and will create a pathway to support your child and offer them the best chance to develop from a recreational player into a College or pro athlete in the future.
