Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to cover all the questions we find are common amongst parents looking to make bookings at our camps. However if you do not find the answer you are looking for below then please just call the office and ask. We are always happy to take your calls and will do our best to help you in any way we can.


How can I book?

The easiest way to book is via our online booking system: https://campscui.active.com/orgs/High5SportsCamps You can also click the Book Now button on the landing page of our website.


Booking doesn’t work on my computer what can I do?

The booking programme works best on a computer in Google Chrome. If you have tries this and are still having trouble we can take bookings over the phone. The main office contact number is 01752 215734.


I would like to pay with childcare vouchers, what do I do?

Please complete your booking online. One of the registration questions will ask “how do you want to pay for your booking” select vouchers and then add in the voucher providers name.

When you reach the checkout page, type in Voucher100 and click apply. You will see this zero’s the balance in your cart.

Remember to still go to the bottom of the page and checkout (this is very important otherwise your booking will not be completed)

Once you have checked out, contact your voucher provider and action the voucher payment. Please make sure you keep a record of the total to action!

Use your chills name and the site as the reference. All payments need to be actioned 1 week prior to your child’s first day at camp so please notify your provider at time of booking.

Do you accept childcare vouchers as payment for the Holiday Camps?

Yes, as we are registered with Ofsted at each of our 3 sites, we can accept a number of different voucher schemes as payment for the camps.

Our unique reference numbers and details you might need are:

If you have used these types of schemes before then please contact the office to notify us that this is how you will be making payment and then do what you normally do to activate them. If however you are unsure if we can accept a voucher or if you have not used vouchers in the past then please contact the office and we will help find out what is acceptable.


Is lunch provided at camp?

We don’t provide lunch at camp, and recommend parents to send their children in with a refillable drinks bottle, hearty packed lunch and lots of healthy snacks, as our campers are active all day.


Can I pay in instalments?

For summer 2019 we are offering an instalment plan option. Please contact the office for more details 01752 215734

For shorter holidays full payment must be made at the time of booking.


What is the procedure if I need to cancel days?

We encourage parents to take out our customer protection plan. CPP should be taken at the time of making the original booking and is charged at £2.50 per child per day. You may cancel your part or all of your booking up to the last working day before your child’s first day at camp and you will receive a full account credit for the days. Only full days can be credited. A refund may be issued in certain circumstances but this is reviewed on a case by case basis.


Does CPP cover or insure for accidents or injuries?

CPP does not act as cover or insure you against accidents or injuries and does not include insurance for personal property.


What is the procedure if I need to change weeks/days?

We are able to change your dates within the same operating season, providing we have spaces and you request your change at least 7 days before camp begins. After this time staffing levels have been arranged so no refunds or credits can be given unless you have taken our Customer Protection Plan in advance.


Do I need to book a full day at camp for my child to be able to participate in the additional activities?

A standard day must be booked with the additional activities being a special add-on you can opt in or out of during the day’s activities.


How do I register for and check my account online?

You will receive a booking confirmation email with a box at the top titled IMPORTANT LINKS. If you click Manage your online account you will be sent to a log in screen. You will need to click the forgotten my password link to reset this. Once this is done you will have access to your own unique parent portal where consent forms, booking details and account information can be accessed.


I’m not local to Stover, do you offer a transfer service?

Yes, we offer a minibus transfer service from a convenient location in Ivybridge:
• South Devon Tennis Centre, Ivybridge PL21 9ES
Pick Up 8.30am // Drop Off 5.30pm
There is a minimal additional charge for this service and spaces on this transport will be limited so we recommend booking early to insure you get a seat.


What does my child need to bring for the day at camp?

A refillable drinks bottle and a hearty packed lunch with lots of snacks. We advise campers to wear comfy sports trainers, a waterproof coat and a change of clothes for our younger Rookies or if the weather is particularly wet.


Would I be able to have a tour of the facilities before booking in my child?

We warmly welcome any parents who would like a look around the facilities and we always give families a tour on their first day at camps. We are often very busy so offering tours prior to booking is a little tricky but we will always do our best to accomodate you. What are your rules regarding smartphones?

Our main aim at the camps are to take children away from computers, TV, and other high-tech time-suckers, swapping them for friendship, fun, sport and adventure in a natural setting. We encourage all campers to leave their phones at home. We understand that this may be difficult for some of our Pro age group (the equivalent of asking them to remove a limb 😉 ) so if this is a deal breaker we will allow them to bring a mobile along but they must be kept in their bags to be checked only at break times.


What is the staff to child ratio?

For our Rookies (ages 5-7) our ratios are 1 – 8
For children aged 8+ our ratios are kept to 1 – 10/12


My child is really nervous about attending camp, how will you deal with this?

Our staff have years of experience dealing with nervous campers and are Pros at settling children in, we really think about how we place the children together to create the most inclusive experience for all. On their first day with us we will give them a tour of the base camp facilities and parents are more than welcome to stay for that until their child settles. This works too for older siblings attending. All of the age groups are kept close together so can check in with each other during the day. We also operate a buddy system to give more nervous children a trusted and encouraging friend for their time at camp.


WILL MY CHILD REMAIN ON SITE ALL DAY?

If your child is attending the NEW rookies camps for 5 – 7 year old’s then they will always remain onsite throughout the day (unless they sign up for Rookies Rock Climbing.) For the older children 8+ we do offer the option of taking part in some of our adventure activities which take part locally at off site venues. However these are optional and NOBODY will ever be taken off site without prior written consent from their parent or guardian.


HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT OFF SITE ACTIVITIES ARE TAKING PLACE DURING THIS HOLIDAYS?

Additional Activities vary depending on the time of year. We will always publish the Additional Activities on the website as downloadable pdf’s on the Additional Activities page of the website, well in advance for the upcoming holidays. If you want to make a booking and please follow the booking process for any given day and the option will appear for you to add in the additional activity once you have registered a child for that day at camp.


Can I be in a group with my friends or siblings?

Yes of course you can the more the merrier. If your friends don’t quite fit into the correct bracket to be in your group age wise we will try our very best to put you together. Assuming the age difference is not huge! Older siblings can go with younger siblings if this is deemed necessary to ensure they settle at camp. Ideally children will be in groups with others of their own age but we will always try to work with you to ensure we have happy High 5 campers all round. If you are unsure or concerned about groupings for your children speak to the front desk on drop off or contact the office if you feel it necessary. High 5 group discounts or special gifts are available if there are 5 or more of you all coming together as a squad.


WHAT IS THE DROP OFF AND COLLECTION POLICY AT THE HOLIDAY CAMPS?

We operate a strict sign in and sign out policy at the camps. No children will be able to leave the site without being collected by a named adult from their booking form. If you need to make alternative arrangements for their collection then please notify us beforehand.

If you wish to collect your child before 4:30 or drop off after 9:30 then we need to know as the sites are secure and all doors will be locked with limited access outside of these specified drop off and collection times.


WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO COLLECT MY CHILDREN?

Our hours of opening are from 8:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday during school holidays. Any children collected after 18:05 will incur a late collection fee of £5 for every 15 minutes late they are collected.
